As part of continued business growth and an expanding project portfolio, our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Planner to join their team and support the successful planning and delivery of key infrastructure and rail projects.

The Role

As Senior Project Planner, you will be responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project programmes across multiple infrastructure and rail projects. Working closely with project delivery and commercial teams, you will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual and operational requirements.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Scheduling and Develop and maintain detailed project programmes and schedules
  • Monitor project progress against programme milestones and deliverables and Identify programme risks, delays, and mitigation strategies
  • Produce short-term and long-term planning schedules and Coordinate project sequencing, resource allocation, and critical path analysis
  • Support tender planning and bid submissions where required
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams and Provide planning support throughout all project phases
  • Attend project meetings and provide programme updates to stakeholders and Assist with change management and programme impact assessments and Support recovery planning and performance improvement initiatives
  • Produce regular progress reports and programme analysis and Maintain accurate planning records and project documentation and Ensure programmes align with contractual obligations and project requirements
  • Utilise planning software to generate reports and performance data and Support compliance with company standards and industry regulations

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within rail, infrastructure, or civil engineering sectors and Strong knowledge of project planning methodologies and scheduling techniques
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project and Experience managing complex project programmes and reporting processes
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills and Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Full UK driving licence

Desired Skills

  • Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline and Previous experience working on Network Rail or major infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of NEC contracts and project controls processes and A membership or working towards membership with a relevant professional body
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
