My client is a fast-paced growing SME that is looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Geologist to support with their existing portfolio of works: Including Tier 1’s and Network Rail. Their culture is one that is focused on people, and they are looking for someone to join and expand the team.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of ground investigation projects
  • Undertake site supervision and geological logging of soils and rocks in accordance with BS/Eurocode standards
  • Prepare factual and interpretative reports, with support and review from senior staff
  • Develop ground models and contribute to geotechnical risk assessment
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, laboratories, and internal teams
  • Support junior staff and technicians on site and in the office
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental requirements

Essential Skills

  • BSc (MSc) in Geology, Engineering Geology, or related disciplines
  • Working towards Chartered status (e.g. Cgeol, CSci, ICE or Similar)
  • Typically, 2-6 years’ experience in engineering geology or geotechnical consultancy
  • Experience of site investigation supervision and logging
  • Good understanding of UK ground conditions and relevant standards (e.g Eurocode 7, BS 5930)
  • Strong written and verbal communications

Desired Skills

  • Experience with geotechnical analysis, slope stability, foundations, or contaminated land
  • Familiarity with industry software (e.g HoleBASE, GeoStudio, PLAXIS)
  • Ability to manage elements of projects and meet deadlines
